Flax seed oil is often promoted as a fat burning supplement. This is "almost" true.

It is surprising that we don't hear more about Evening Primrose Oil (EPO) as a fat burning supplement. No doubt, EPO is an essential oil that is more effective at helping the body burn fat for fuel. In fact, the difference between the two is akin to that of a scooter and car for getting from point A to point B.

Considering that 800 people will die today from obesity it is a shock that more nutraceutical consumers are not aware of EPO. After all, not only is it safe and effective for helping to burn fat but it is also readily available at any health food store.

A good way to ensure that fat is being used by the body for fuel is to supplement with Evening Primrose Oil (EPO). EPO is a precursor to prostaglandin 1 (PGE1). PGE1 is responsible for converting triglycerides into free fatty acids. Without the conversion, triglycerides simply get restored as fat. This would be the ugly fat hanging around your hips and thighs.

To ensure that fat is used for fuel and that you don't carry the excess fat for life, one would seriously want to consider using this inexpensive nutraceutical in conjunction with a good thermogenic aid (fat burning supplement).

Flax Seed Oil is inferior to EPO in that it takes several biological reactions before PGE1 is derived from the various fatty acids found in Flax Seed Oil. Additionally, these reactions are often "botched" due to free radicals, toxins, and poor diet. EPO on the other hand is a significantly closer cousin to PGE1. Therefore, despite the typical factors that are responsible for botching flax seed conversion, EPO is readily converted to PGE1.

Marketing of Flax Seed Oil is much more aggressive than EPO simply because it is less expensive for a nutraceutical company to obtain.
